My friend Terry told me that Binion's was having a $260 HORSE tournament at 4 pm and I decided to play it.
There were 271 players and they were paying 24. First prize was $14000; 24th through 17th paid $592. We reached the money at 3:30 am. I lasted another hour and went out 20th for the $592 prize. Not much but at least it ended this no cashing curse I have had!
Russ and I also decided to back Terry in this tournament. We put up $130 each for a 30% share each. Turned out to be a good investment as Terry made it to the final table at 8:30 am and chopped up the prize money proportionally to the chip counts. He got $5090. So Russ and I got $1500 each and Terry scored $2000.

Played 1 - 3 nl at the Wynn and won $72. Ridiculously tight table.
The Wynn has a freeroll tourney for everyone who plays 50 hours in June and I think many of the players are just playing super tight while they accumulate the hours.
I gave Sue $100 as partners on 10 - 20 omaha since she needed $200 for the buy in. She started well and got up to about $600 but she lost it all after an hour or so.
Saw late movie The Happening at 12:45 am with Terry.
After movie went to RIO. Russ was out of the $10,000 omaha hi / lo tourney by 1:00 am. Sue was playing big - hope she gets lucky!

Lost $200 playing the 2 - 5 nl. I built my $200 buy in up to $370 when I flopped a set of 3's (I had pocket threes).
The flop was j 3 5 with two clubs. A young gal bet $30, I raised to $90, she re-raised to $150, I moved in for $370, she called and showed ace jack of clubs (making me a 69% favorite). She hit the club right on the turn and I failed to fill up and lost.
I was sick of nl so I sat down in the 50 - 100 8ob and quickly won $800. I then jumped into the 75 - 150 omaha and won $1450 in about 20 minutes.
I then went back to the same 2 - 5 nl game and lost lost $300 on the third hand when I had k j of hearts and flopped k j 4. A guy bet $75 and I raised all in for $150 more and he called with ace king (I was an 86% favorite). He caught the ace right on the turn! It was an ace of hearts, so I could win with a jack or any heart, but it didn't come.
Anyway I played another hour and got it all back, so I ended up winning $2050 for the night.

Started with 12000 chips. Lost a big pot at the 100 - 200 level with 25 ante. I raised to 700 from mid position with pocket 8's. Button went all in for 675 and small blind called. Flop was 8 3 5 all spades. SB checked and I checked. Turn was ace of clubs. SB checked and I bet 1500. SB raised to 3000. I called. River was 10 of hearts. SB went all in for 4500. I hoped he had aces up since the odds of flopping a flush are less than 2%. I called and he showed me the 10 jack of spades.
That fiasco left me with only about 3000. I quickly doubled when my q j suited hit a jack against a guy with ace 9. I then started playing aggressively and raised several pots preflop taking the pot uncontested. I had medium strength hands and was happy to steal. I built my stack to 8800.
With blinds at 200 - 400 and 50 antes I picked up j j in late position. A mid position guy limped for 400 and the guy to my right raised it to 1400 - a weak raise given that a guy had already limped in. If the raiser had a big pair I would have expected a bigger raise to protect his hand. With about 3000 already in the pot I decided to try to take it right there and moved all in for 8800. Everyone folded to the raiser and he commented that he would usually fold but was going to call because I had been bullying the table. He had ace queen offsuit. The flop was q q 4. I got no help and was out.
I went to RIO later and lost $1300 in the 50 - 100 8ob.

Went to Binion's and played the $125 nl at 8 pm. At the 3rd level 100 / 200 I picked up pocket kings. Started with 6000 and had about 5900 when this hand came up. Guy in middle position who had been loose raised it to 600 and I re-raised to 1500. He was the only caller. Pot had 3525. Flop 7 9 J with two clubs. He checked and I went all in for 4400. He called and showed ace jack with one club - making me a 74% favorite. Turn was 2 of spades so I only had to dodge a jack or and ace on the river - an 89% favorite. It came ace and I was out.
Went to the Wynn and played 1 - 3 nl. Built stack to about $420. Picked up q 10 in bb. Called a small raise from loose player in middle position. Flop was 7 10 q. I checked and he bet $60. I called. Turn was 2 and I checked. He bet $80 and I moved all in for about $250 more. He called and showed kings as I expected (could have been aces too). River paired the 2. Ouch! I played a little while longer but was too tired so I had a $380 loss for the session. Ate at Ellis Island.

I played 2 - 5 nl and struggled all night.
Got stuck $600 then moved to a table with a maniac and a drunk. I played super tight and patient and I finally hit a set on the flop and rivered the full house for a nice pot. A while later I hit broadway on the turn and the drunk bet $150 all in. Of course I called. The river was a third suited card so I was worried, but he mucked and my straight held up. It was late and I was up $33 so I called it a night.

Not much happening today. The RIO was pretty quiet. Russ out of $3000 HORSE within 3 hours. I played 2 - 5 nl for about 2 hours and won $207. Looks like good $550 nl tourney at Golden Nugget this Saturday I will probably play.
